Is it a bad idea to do weight training everyday?

Hi. Right now, I lift weights for about a half hour everyday. Should I be alternating days or something, to give my muscles a break, or is this okay? How often should someone be lifting weights?

I’m a 17 year old girl, 132 pounds, 5′6, if that helps. What I’m doing is hand weights and the rowing machine.

Yes. You need to give your muscles the opportunity to repair themselves. When you build muscle you are actually making little tears in the muscles. The process of the tears healing is what makes you stronger. So, please give your muscles a break. Get some cardio in there. Go for a swim or a run. And take at least one or two days completely off.
