I’m writing this while at work, so it’s for all my fellow lazy poets.?
Slither
Her long brown hair hangs down over her face
the camisole she wears is all ribbons and lace
outside in the distance a train sounds it’s horn
it’s for this precise moment, I’m sure I was born
my gorgeous Michelle, what did I do to deserve you
sometimes a little girl, othertimes a woman too
she playfully traces her fingers on my chest
the two of us forever, sharing one longing quest
A woman who was waiting for me to pass by
just a shake of her hips and she caught my eye
she moved like a snake slowly, almost a crawl
in her voice if you listen, a sweet southern drawl
If ever a woman was destined to be with one man
with myself and Michelle it was a masterful plan
I couldn’t ever leave her, it’s not in the stars
Our hearts bound together with strength of iron bars
.
I know it’s kind of sappy, but I was feeling a little dippy I guess. Even in the most trite of poems you still find some truth
Thanks for indulging me.
Michelle is my wife of 26 years
Pretty sweet, now get back to work! I’m only kidding lol!
