How should I start bodybuilding?

Hi, I’m currently 5′11″ and 145 lbs 21 yrs old. I have always been smaller and never been able to gain weight even in high school I was the same weight. yesterday I got sick of it and got a membership to the gym. I bought a can of Animal Pak online and really have no idea what supplements I should start taking along with it. It’s been forever since I got advice on what I should take to get bigger. I just don’t know what to buy, I’m not against any type of supplements except injecting steroids lol?

Well to start bodybuilding you should do some research first, like what you’re doing now.

For bulking up the workout you should concentrate on should include compound exercises. These include barbell squats, deadlifts, lunges pullups, chinups, pushups, dips, pull-downs and bench press. 2-4 sets of 6-8 reps is adequate for stimulating muscle growth.

With nutrition to bulk up you should consume a high protein, high carb diet. Proteins include milk, peanut butter, cheese, eggs and lean meats such as beef, chicken, fish and tuna. Carbs include wholegrain bread, brown rice and pasta. You can top off your food with a whey protein shake. Good to use if you have a busy day and need convenience.
